Third Quarter Fundraising Totals

Today, both candidates for Congress here in the fifth district released their fundraising totals for the third quarter.

Congressman Chris Murphy raised about 220K, which brings his total amount raised to more than 1 million dollars. He currently has 940K cash on hand. His Republican challenger, David Cappiello, raised around 70K down from his impressive 200K he raised last quarter. He has about 204K cash on hand.

Now, the third quarter is typically the toughest quarter to raise money. The numbers are usually lower than any other. For example Murphy raised 137K more the last quarter, and Cappiello is down 130K.

It should be very interesting what happens next quarter. Cappiello will have to make a big statement, whereas Murphy is able to raise a lot of money and will try to even further himself from Cappiello when it comes to fundraising.

This post=avoiding the comment in the previous post.

Cappiello's numbers are god-awful for someone in the richest district in Connecticut. He didn't even beat the guy in the 2nd district and Shays and Himes didn't have a problem showing impressive numbers.

Keep shaking those pomp pomps for Cappiello, and avoiding the whole Basso-Urice disgrace.

DP=DRTC.

Maybe this blogger just doesn't want to beat a dead horse. It seems like every nasty comment imaginable has already been made on those subjects.

Keep up the great work DP!!!
I enjoy the positive tone of this blog.

Sen. & Mrs. Cappiello welcomed a new child to their family last quarter. It's nice to see him put his priorities (family first)in place and will surely pick up the pace going forward.

Go David!

Basso and Urice isn't a dead horse, they're the real mindset behind one of the REAL Republican Party in Danbury.

Positive tone and Republican don't mix.

Brushing all people of a group with the same stroke sounds like prejudice to me.

Seeing that there were other Republican Common Council members who received the emails (who had every opportunity to tell Basso and Urice to cut it out), if you call it prejudice, that's fine with me.

The R in Republican stands for Racist.

I will continue to thank God every day, that I'm not filled with such anger and pain. I'll add you to my prayers.

CTBlogger keep your hatred to yourself. If you cared about humanity you wouldn't torment people via the internet. You are a sick person, get help.

Sorry to bust your bubble but I'm not that guy.

I'm someone who saw Basso's emails first-hand and has had enough of people like you who have ruined this city in the eyes of everyone else in Connecticut.

You quiet close-minded Republicans are disgusting and all need to be removed from office.

Sorry, I'm not Republican. You assume everyone else is because you are narrow-minded. Good job on the spell check this time, snoopy!

That's your ignorance bro - you can't tell the difference because you're too close minded. Just stop spreading hate for flippin' sakes!!
