McLachlan Kicks Off Senate Bid

Michael McLachlan announced yesterday that he is running for the State Senate. You can read the article here.

McLachlan is currently Mayor Boughton's chief of staff. He has gained the support of just about every Republican official in our area.

The seat is currently held by David Cappiello, who is running for Congress this year. He has served the 24th senatorial district for the past ten years.

As of now, McLachlan is the only candidate in the race. He appears to clearly become the official Republican nominee. Also, no Democrats have publicly come out to show interest in the seat. This is the first time in over a decade that the Democrats could have a decent shot at winning the seat.

McLachlan also has put up a website. You can view it here.

Democrats don't have a prayer against McLachlan.
