Saadi Says No To Senate Bid

Councilman Tom Saadi announced today that he will not run for the 24th State Senate seat. You can read it here.

The seat is open because current Senator David Cappiello is running for Congress. Saadi is currently the minority leader on the Common Council. As of now, the only candidate running for the seat is Republican Michael McLachlan, Mayor Boughton's chief of staff. Few names have been mentioned for the Democrats, however if one plans on running I believe they will announce fairly soon.

That's too bad I like Saadi and think he would make a fine state senator.

I thought Dan Jowdy would been the most logical choice for either side in the 24th Senate Seat.
