Yesterday was Danbury Day at the capitol in Hartford. You can read the article here.
This was the first time that our city was given a special day of honor at the capitol, something that hopefully will become a tradition. Many legislators wore hats in order to celebrate Danbury, also known as "Hat City".
It appears as though it was a very nice ceremony as four Danbury icons were honored. They were John Esposito, a Democratic Council member of the fourth ward, who is the longest serving member in the history of our city. Michael Seri, the former Democratic Town Clerk, was honored as well. Robert Noche, former Republican Town Committee chair, and Evo Butera, a retired assessor for Danbury, were also honored.
Like I said, I hope this becomes an annual event because it is truly great for Danbury.
